We gather unused and broken instruments, along with monetary donations, from generous families, schools, and community partners.
“Every instrument deserves a second song.”
A student-led nonprofit that collects unused and broken musical instruments, restores them to playable condition, and places them with children who long to make music but can’t afford an instrument.
We exist for two reasons: to give every instrument a second life, and to give every child the chance to make music. Every basement, attic, and closet holds an instrument that has gone quiet, and somewhere nearby is a child longing to learn. Play It Forward exists to bring the two together, one restored instrument at a time.
Many children are eager to learn an instrument, but the cost of buying one puts music out of reach. We help bridge that gap, providing restored instruments at no cost to children who are ready to play, practice, and grow.
From a forgotten case in the closet to a child’s first lesson.
We gather unused and broken instruments, along with monetary donations, from generous families, schools, and community partners.
Donated funds pay for the repairs that restore each instrument to playable condition, and help us buy good used ones when they’re needed.
Every instrument, whether restored or purchased, is placed with children who want to learn music, at no cost to them.
There are two simple ways to put an instrument in a child’s hands.
Have an instrument gathering dust in a closet? Whatever its condition, working or broken, we’ll give it a second life. Tell us about it and we’ll arrange a pickup.
Your gift helps us repair donated instruments and buy new and used ones for students who need them. Every dollar helps put music in a child’s hands.
